Consortia of genome-wide association studies (GWAS)
Welcome to the WikiGenes catalog of GWAS consortia.
This catalog is a product of two surveys sent to GWAS investigators in March and April 2011. Our intent was to facilitate collaboration and encourage cross-study analyses. Our specific goals were to:
- Develop a catalog of GWAS consortia with information on each;
- Develop a catalog of GWAS studies and information on the availability of phenotype data;
- Assess the growth, number, size and characteristics of consortia;
- Make this information available publicly so it could serve as a resource for GWAS investigators planning research studies or desiring collaboration;
- Promote future cross-study and cross-consortia collaborations and investigations; and
- Inform potential funders of the needs of GWAS consortia.
The results of our surveys are now available through Nature Precedings , and we anticipate final publication of the Commentary and supporting documents in Nature Genetics in February 2012.
We encourage your participation in developing this resource by contributing to improvements of this catalog of GWAS consortia. If you participate in one or more consortia, please check the consortia listing, contribute any missing or erroneous data, and identify any new, emerging and evolving consortia (e.g. those undergoing name changes, splits and consolidations).
We hope that collaboration will help scientists identify genetic loci associated with many different phenotypes and increase the power to study less common outcomes.
Thank you for your interest and support!
