Disease relevance of PROPIDIUM

High impact information on PROPIDIUM

  • Withdrawal of serum growth factors or stimulation of heterozygous ES cells with staurosporine (STS), ultraviolet (UV)B irradiation, etoposide (VP16), or cisplatin induced apoptosis followed by cell death (determined by failure to exclude propidium iodide dye) [6].
  • MMR deficiency had no effect on cell proliferation, viability, or apoptosis, as detected by [(3)H]thymidine incorporation and by propidium iodide staining [7].
  • Death was due to apoptosis as demonstrated by flow cytometric analysis of propidium iodide-stained cells, by typical DNA laddering in gel electrophoresis, and by the inspection of Giemsa-stained cell smears [8].
  • Furthermore, antisense c-myc promotes the appearance of phosphorylated retinoblastoma protein in the presence of anti-mu and prevents the progression to apoptosis as measured by propidium iodide staining [9].
  • DNA content analysis using flow cytometry after staining with propidium iodide revealed that the treatment of M07E cells with FN did not block the entry of the cells into the cell cycle after stimulation with GM-CSF or SCF, whereas the treatment resulted in the appearance of subdiploid peak [10].
