Analytical, diagnostic and therapeutic context of latrunculin a

  • METHODS: Latrunculin-A dose-time-response relationships in BAECs were determined by immunofluorescence and phase contrast light microscopy, facility by two-level constant pressure anterior chamber perfusion [34].
  • We first compared the effects of two actin-disrupting reagents, latrunculin A and cytochalasin D, on the organization of the actin filaments as well as on the insulin action on glucose transport by laser confocal microscopy combined with biochemical analysis of the insulin action [35].
  • Intrahippocampal latrunculin A microdialysis induced seizures during the second and third day of perfusion, and the animals started showing spontaneous seizures 1 month after lartrunculin A administration [36].
  • Pretreatment with cytochalasin D (5 microM) or latrunculin A (3 microM) abolished constriction but enhanced the [Ca(2+)](i) response; similarly, acute application of cytochalasin D to vessels with tone, or in the presence of 60 mM K(+), elicited relaxation accompanied by an increase in [Ca(2+)](i) [37].
  • Latrunculin A was evaluated in an sc-implanted human A549 lung tumor xenograft mouse model and yielded a T/C of 146% [38].
