Synonyms: Ras-related protein Rab-10

Welcome! If you are familiar with the subject of this article, you can contribute to this open access knowledge base by deleting incorrect information, restructuring or completely rewriting any text.

Ideally this entry shall become one comprehensive and continuous article. Bulleted lists, for instance, were only used because it is impossible to automatically integrate independent facts into a continuous text.

Much of the current information on this page has been automatically compiled from Pubmed.

This precompiled information serves as a substrate and matrix to embed your contributions, but it is by no means the final word - Homo sapiens can do much better!

WikiGenes is a non-profit and open access community project.

High impact information on RAB10

  • Double-labeling experiments with anti-rab10 antisera and wheat germ agglutinin, a trans-Golgi and trans-Golgi network (TGN) marker, demonstrate that rab10p is not localized to the trans-Golgi/TGN [1].
  • Rab10p is not exclusively localized to the endoplasmic reticulum, as identified by anti-calsequestrin immunofluorescence [1].
  • In mammalian cell lines, Rab10 has been localized to the trans-Golgi/trans-Golgi network (Y.-T. Chen et al., 1993, Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA 90, 6508-6512) [1].
  • Depletion of Rab10 by RNA interference has only mild effects on biosynthetic transport and epithelial polarization, but simultaneous inhibition of Rab10 and Rab8a more strongly impairs basolateral sorting [2].
  • In contrast, neither wild-type nor constitutively active GFP-tagged Rab10 restored GLUT4 translocation [3].

Analytical, diagnostic and therapeutic context of RAB10

  • Immunoblots and immunofluorescent stainings show that rab10 protein (rab10p) is expressed during all stages of sea urchin early development and in all embryonic cell types [1].
