Psychiatry related information on Agtr1b

  • RESULTS: Tacrine completely blocked the avoidance-learning deficit caused by Sco 0.5 mumol.kg-1, AT3 and Atr 5 mumol.kg-1, or Ani 50 mumol.kg-1 [1].
  • The avoidance-memory deficit caused by Sco 0.05-5 mumol.kg-1 or Atr 5 mumol.kg-1 was completely or partly attenuated by tacrine, which did not antagonize the memory deficit elicited by Sco and Atr 50 mumol.kg-1, AT3 5 and 50 mumol.kg-1, and Ani 50 mumol.kg-1 [1].

High impact information on Agtr1b

  • Agtr1a-/-, Agtr1b-/- mice are characterized by normal in utero survival but decreased ex utero survival rate [2].
  • Agtr1b -/- mice are healthy, without an abnormal phenotype [3].
  • Reduced growth, abnormal kidney structure, and type 2 (AT2) angiotensin receptor-mediated blood pressure regulation in mice lacking both AT1A and AT1B receptors for angiotensin II [3].
  • A role of Ang II via AT1B or AT2 receptors is still a possibility that cannot be ruled out by the present experimental approach [4].
  • Inhibition of the response by AT1 receptor antagonist suggests mediation by the AT1B receptor in these animals [5].

Biological context of Agtr1b

Anatomical context of Agtr1b

Associations of Agtr1b with chemical compounds

  • Rodents are the unique species carrying duplicated angiotensin (Ang) type 1 (AT1) receptor genes, Agtr1a and Agtr1b [2].
  • Agtr1a -/-Agtr1b -/- mice have no systemic pressor response to infusions of angiotensin II, but they respond normally to another vasoconstrictor, epinephrine [3].
  • Our results demonstrate that Ang II causes calcium signaling in AT1A-deficient VSMCs that is mediated by an endogenous losartan-sensitive AT1B receptor [8].
  • This pressor response was not blocked by pretreatment with sympatholytic agents but was completely inhibited by the AT1-receptor antagonists, losartan and candesartan, suggesting that it is directly mediated by AT1B receptors [11].
  • On recall session (d 2) the walking and rearing behaviors in the 18- and 28-d-old mice receiving Atr, Sco, and AT3 on d 1 were higher than those in the mice receiving saline [12].
