Physical interactions of Abcc3

  • Because Mrp3 transports TC and its expression is induced on the basolateral membrane of Mrp2-deficient rats, the enhanced sinusoidal efflux of TC in EHBR may be accounted for, at least partially, by the increased expression of Mrp3 [12].

Other interactions of Abcc3

  • We conclude that induced expression of basolateral Mrp3 by EE may represent a compensatory mechanism to prevent intracellular accumulation of common Mrp substrates, either endogenous or exogenous, due to reduced expression and activity of apical Mrp2 [6].
  • Northern blot analysis indicated that MLP-1 is expressed predominantly in the liver in both SD rats and EHBR, whereas hepatic expression of MLP-2 was observed only in EHBR [9].
  • In contrast, CDF appears to be taken up by Oatp-mediated transport into rat hepatocytes and effluxed via Mrp2 into bile and via Mrp3 into sinusoidal blood [10].
  • In contrast, LPS increased mRNA levels of Mrp1, Mrp3, and Mdr1b concurrently with the down-regulated transporters [13].
  • Specific knockdown of Mrp2 (approximately 50% decrease in expression) resulted in an approximately 45% decrease in the biliary excretion index of carboxydichlorofluorescein (CDF) (9.3% versus 16.5%), but did not affect Mrp3 or radixin expression [7].
