Disease relevance of nifH

  • Subsequent restriction analysis revealed that all three nif structural genes were contiguous in the Methylococcus genome in the order nifH, nifD and nifK, as found for the majority of other diazotrophs [1].
  • For reference, nifH and nifD sequences were also obtained from some type II MB of the alphaproteobacterial Methylosinus/Methylocystis group and from gammaproteobacterial type I MB [2].
