Welcome! If you are familiar with the subject of this article, you can contribute to this open access knowledge base by deleting incorrect information, restructuring or completely rewriting any text.

Ideally this entry shall become one comprehensive and continuous article. Bulleted lists, for instance, were only used because it is impossible to automatically integrate independent facts into a continuous text.

Much of the current information on this page has been automatically compiled from Pubmed.

This precompiled information serves as a substrate and matrix to embed your contributions, but it is by no means the final word - Homo sapiens can do much better!

WikiGenes is a non-profit and open access community project.

High impact information on SF2

  • While being competent for the regulation of 5' alternative splice site choice and activation of specific splicing enhancers, dASF fails to complement S100-cytoplasmic splicing-deficient extracts [1].
  • While this difference has no effect on dASF localization, it impedes its capacity to shuttle between the nucleus and cytoplasm and abolishes its phosphorylation by SR protein kinase 1 (SRPK1). dASF also has an altered splicing activity [1].
  • Our results are consistent with a role for the purine region in facilitated snRNP binding to the NRS via SF2/ASF [2].

Associations of SF2 with chemical compounds

  • The second is a purine-rich region in the 5' half that interacts with the splicing factor SF2/ASF [2].
