Psychiatry related information on Erythema

High impact information on Erythema

  • RESULTS: Erythema migrans developed at the site of the tick bite in a significantly smaller proportion of the subjects in the doxycycline group than of those in the placebo group (1 of 235 subjects [0.4 percent] vs. 8 of 247 subjects [3.2 percent], P<0.04) [7].
  • We hypothesized that the rare persons with the p phenotype, whose erythrocytes do not have this receptor, would be naturally resistant to B19 infection, which causes erythema infectiosum [8].
  • After eight weeks, the eight recipients of cyclosporine had marked improvement in erythema (P = 0.003), erosion (P = 0.02), reticulation (presence of white lacelike lesions; P = 0.007), and pain (P = 0.002), whereas the eight recipients of vehicle had no change or minimal improvement [9].
  • As compared with nonresponders, penicillin-responsive patients in both studies were more likely to have previously received antibiotics for erythema chronicum migrans (P less than 0.02) and less likely to have been given intraarticular corticosteroids during or at the conclusion of parenteral therapy (P less than 0.1) [10].
  • Faster healing and pain resolution occurred both among patients who first applied penciclovir cream in the prodrome and erythema stages and among those who started treatment in the papule and vesicle lesion stages [11].

  • Increased expression of vascular permeability factor (vascular endothelial growth factor) in bullous pemphigoid, dermatitis herpetiformis, and erythema multiforme [25].
  • The small increase in interleukin-10 implies that 3 minimal erythema doses of solar-simulated radiation is the threshold dose for its induction and local, rather than systemic, functions for interleukin-10 in immunosuppression and regulation of other cytokines [26].
  • The results consistently indicated the presence of inflammatory quantities of IL-1 alpha-like material, which induced persistent erythema lasting at least 24 h, associated in 4-h biopsies with mixed dermal leukocyte infiltrates containing increased numbers of neutrophils, monocytes, and T helper cells [27].
  • Western analysis revealed that levels of the full-length, 85 kDa proenzyme form of MMP-8 increased significantly within 8 h post ultraviolet irradiation (2 minimal erythema doses) [28].
  • Immunohistochemical studies on two minimal erythema doses (2MED)-exposed and 2MED-unexposed skin from healthy volunteers revealed that CXCR-2 staining occurred over the whole layer of the epidermis but at 24 h after 2MED irradiation, the positive staining of CXCR-2 was decreased [29].
