We have acquired high-resolution carbon 1s near-edge X-ray absorption fine structure (NEXAFS) spectra of methane, ethane, propane, isobutane, and neopentane [1].
The local mode parameters for neopentane and TMS are calculated ab initio for a variety of molecular conformations [2].
Using a high-Z gas fill produces electron temperatures in the 3.5-6-keV range, the highest temperatures measured to date for high-density (10(21) e/cm(3)) laser-heated plasmas, and much higher than the 3 keV found for low-Z (neopentane) fills [3].

The hydrogen/deuterium exchange reaction of 2,2-dimethylpropane (neopentane) over D(2)O-exchanged zeolites (MOR, FAU, BEA, MFI) using a batch recirculation reactor was studied by means of gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometer [5].
