Treatments of eggs with docosane, tetracosane, pentacosane, and eicosane enhanced host egg parasitization, while pentadecane, hexadecane, and nonadecane deterred oviposition [1].
Dual-choice bioassays indicated the following: (1) A. eadyi showed more sensitive avoidance responses to n-tricosane than did the other two parasitoid species, (2) all three species showed similar responses to n-pentacosane across a range of doses, and (3) only P. volucre showed avoidance responses to n-heptacosane [2].
Two DNA cleavage agents, meso-dihydroguaiaretic acid (1) and isobavachalcone (2) together with the known alpha-ylangene, beta-sitosterol, daucosterol, pentacosane, hexacosanic acid and cerotic acid 1-monoglyceride were isolated from the stem barks of Kadsura ananosma Kerr for the first time [3].
