High impact information on cyclopropanecarboxylic acid

For both hepatocytes and kidney slices, the best substrate for the camitine conjugate was cyclopropanecarboxylic acid followed by cyclobuthanecarboxylic acid (CBCA) and cyclohexanecarboxylic acid (CHCA) [1].
The inhibitor binding mode is novel, with the cyclopropanecarboxylic acid moiety directed towards the solvent exposed region of the ATP-binding pocket, and several induced structural changes in the active-site compared with other published AIK structures [2].
Microarray results showed that gene expression changes with CPCA resulted in regulation of genes involved in beta-oxidation, as well as other genes associated with mitochondrial function [3].
The active substance, termed gonyauline, has been isolated and characterized as a novel low molecular weight cyclopropanecarboxylic acid (S-methyl-cis-2-(methylthio) cyclopropanecarboxylic acid) [4].
