  • The pharmacokinetics of habekacin, a new semisynthetic aminoglycoside antibiotic, were investigated in six healthy subjects and 25 uremic patients (six of whom were on hemodialysis) after administration of a single 3-mg/kg dose [2].
  • The oriC-membrane complex formation was markedly interrupted by habekacin in the dnaC(Ts) mutant, and the in vitro reconstitution of the oriC-membrane complex was completely blocked by aminoglycosides [5].
  • In a cell-free system, habekacin interfered with polypeptide synthesis, caused codon misreading, and inhibited translocation of N-acetylphenylalanyl-tRNA from the acceptor site to the donor site on ribosomes [1].
