The prominent fluoride-sensitive acetyl, butyryl esterase, is the major isoenzyme of monocyte zymograms, which is consistent with the well known cytochemistry of monocytes [1].
Substrate catalysis rates by wild type acetylcholinesterase (AChE) of acetyl-, butyryl-, and benzoylthiocholine diminished with increasing size of the acyl moiety [2].
The inhibition of the human serum cholinesterase phenotypes, usual (U), atypical (A) and heterozygous (UA), by the dimethylcarbamate of (2-hydroxy-5-phenylbenzyl)-trimethylammonium bromide (Ro 02-0683), was followed with benzoylcholine, acetyl-, butyryl- and propionyl-thiocholine as substrates [3].
Formaldehyde, glyoxal, urethane, methyl carbamate, 2,3-butanedione, 2,3-hexanedione, ethyl acrylate, dibromoacetonitrile and 2-hydroxypropionitrile induce chromosome loss in Saccharomyces cerevisiae [4].
