Organophosphorus insecticides: methylbromphenvinphos, dichlorvos, malathion and methylparathion exert antilytic effects on pig erythrocytes by preventing osmotic disruption of membranes in hypotonic saline media [3].
The experiment was carried out on Wistar rats receiving orally either oil or oily solution of methylbromophenvinfos (Polfos) either in a single dose of 0.5 LD50, or doses of 0.1 LD50 once daily for a period of 2, 4 or 6 weeks [4].
