Sodium polyanethole sulfonate: a new macrophage-dependent polymyxin-inhibitable, polyclonal B cell activator [2].
The anionic detergent sodium polyanethole sulfonate was found to activate mouse B lymphocytes to increased cell division and formation of plaque-forming cells, possibly by an indirect mechanism [2].
However, polyanethole sulfonate, the carrageenans, polyvinyl sulphate, fucoidin, and pentosan sulphate exerted a mitogenic action on the 3T3 cells that was independent of, and in addition to, the ability of these GAGs to potentiate the action of aFGF [3].
