METHODS: The pharmacokinetics of the metabolites of dipyrone-4-methylaminoantipyrine, 4-aminoantipyrine, 4-formylaminoantipyrine, and 4-acetylaminoantipyrine-after a 1.0 gm oral dose of dipyrone were evaluated in nine asymptomatic carriers of hepatitis B virus with normal liver function tests and nine healthy subjects [1].
Lymphocyte transformation test confirmed the sensitization of the patient's lymphocytes to metamizole and three of its four metabolites (4-methylaminoantipyrine, 4-acetylaminoantipyrine and 4-formylaminoantipyrine) [3].
3. The formation of the metabolites 4-monoaminoantipyrine, 4-acetylaminoantipyrine and 4-formylaminoantipyrine decreased in the cultured diabetic rat hepatocytes, while that of 4-aminoantipyrine was at the same levels as controls [4].
