In vitro and in vivo expression studies of yopE from Yersinia enterocolitica using the gfp reporter gene [1].

High impact information on yopE

Here we show that infection of cells with wild type Y. enterocolitica and a yopE mutant, but not with a yopT mutant, induces an increase in the electrophoretic mobility of the small GTPase RhoA [2].
Finally, a yopE mutant of Y. enterocolitica expressing the cytotoxic activity of YopT specifically disrupted RhoA-controlled actin stress fibers [2].
We constructed various truncated yopE genes fused to gfp (encoding the green fluorescent protein) to study yopE gene expression and YopE-GFP translocation of Y. enterocolitica in cell culture and mouse infection models [1].
When introduced into the context of the full-length yopE gene, the single-nucleotide mutation reduces the type III injection of YopE into HeLa cells, even though the predicted amino acid sequence remains the same [3].
