Disease relevance of ral

High impact information on ral

  • One surprising feature of the sequence is the presence in the region expected to be occupied by ral of a long open reading frame that, if it is expressed, would have to be transcribed from left to right, or counter to transcription from PL [4].
  • The tL2 termination site, which was placed by Salstrom and Szybalski (Virology 88, 252-260, 1978) between lambda genes bet and ral, was found to consist of a cluster of four leftward terminators [1].
  • Restriction alleviation was found to be a transient effect because induced cells, which initially failed to restrict unmodified plasmid DNA, later restricted unmodified phage lambda [5].
