Disease relevance of Hspa1b

High impact information on Hspa1b

  • As an example of single gene analysis, the RT1-linked heat shock-inducible heat shock genes Hsp70-1 and Hsp70-2 have been studied [3].
  • Heat shock protein (Hsp)70-1 and Hsp70-2 mRNA increase greatly in most tissues, which cannot be attributed to decreased TonEBP activity [4].
  • Unlike Hsp 72, Hsp 27 is constitutively expressed in the rat embryo in the absence of any thermal stress; however, the level of Hsp 27 is increased approximately 2-3-fold after thermal stress (43 degrees C, 10 min) [5].
  • Hsp 72 response to a transient forebrain ischemia seemingly reflects differences in the selective ischemic vulnerability of CA1/2 and CA3 neurons [1].
  • However, green tea drinking failed to prevent the vanadium-induced Hsp72 under-expression in kidney of vanadium-treated rats [6].

Anatomical context of Hspa1b

  • There was no effect on the inducible cytosolic Hsp 70, Hsp 72, nor on mtHsp 70 in rho 0 cells, leading us to concluded that stress applied selectively to mitochondria elicits a specific molecular chaperone response [7].

Associations of Hspa1b with chemical compounds

  • In kidney of vanadium-treated rats, Hsp73 was over-expressed by about 50% whereas Hsp72 was down-regulated by 50-80% [6].

Other interactions of Hspa1b

  • The DNAs were digested with restriction enzymes BamHI, EcoRI, PstI or PvuII and assayed by probes hybridizing to all three genes or selectively to Hsp70-1, Hsp70-2 and Hsp70-3, respectively [8].
  • This report suggests for the first time that Hsp70-2 gene might not inhibit the apoptosis of germ cells at the early stage in cryptorchid testes [2].
