Disease relevance of PDLIM3

  • The expression of the human ALP gene has been postulated to be affected by mutations that cause facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy; thus, the characterization of ALP function may ultimately provide insight into the mechanism of this disease [1].
  • Biochemical evaluations revealed hypoalbuminemia, hypoprotienemia and increased ALP activity and billuribin [2].
  • Decreased feed consumption, body weight gain and efficiency of feed utilization, increased SGOT and LDH activities, and cholesterol and triglyceride concentrations, and decreased uric acid concentrations and ALP activity were observed in the chicks fed the high aflatoxin-contaminated ration without soil [3].

High impact information on PDLIM3

  • As myofibrils develop, ALP and MLP are observed in distinct distribution patterns in the cell [4].
  • A full-length cDNA encoding the ortholog of the alpha-actinin-associated LIM protein (ALP) was isolated from white skeletal muscle of Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) [5].
  • In Experiment 2, the BZ agonists alprazolam (ALP; 0.065, 0.125, 0.25, or 1.50 mg/kg) and lorazepam (LOR; 0.125, 0.25, 0.50, or 1.0 mg/kg) dose dependently reversed social separation-induced DVocs and SIA [6].
  • Chromium did not affect serum cholesterol and P levels but reduced serum glucose and increased serum protein, Cr, Ca, and Mg levels, and ALP activity [7].
  • Through tissue culture and isotope tracing, it was found that Gusuibu (Drynaria baronii) injection (GI) significantly promoted calcification of the cultivated chick embryo bone primordium (CEBP), increased ALP activity in the cultivated tissue, and accelerated synthesis of proteoglycan [8].

Anatomical context of PDLIM3

  • In the jejunum and caecum the ALP activity decreased during starvation and was fully restored by re-feeding only in the caecum [9].
  • In contrast ALP activity fell in the duodenum during starvation and was partially restored by refeeding [9].
  • Alkaline (ALP) and acid (ACP) phosphomonoesterases present in the cell-free extracts of the Triton x-100 treated freshly ejaculated chicken spermatozoa were studied of some of their physico-chemical properties [10].

Associations of PDLIM3 with chemical compounds

  • These changes were accompanied by anemia and increases in LDH, GOT and ALP activities and uric acid concentration and by decreased serum total protein [11].
  • Alkaline phosphatase (ALP, EC 3.1.3.1), acid phosphatase (ACP, EC 3.1.3.2), aspartate aminotransferase (ASAT, EC 2.6.1.1) and alanine aminotransferase (ALAT, EC 2.6.1.2) were measured in the mucosal homogenates of the duodenum, jejunum and caecum of full-fed (control), starved and refed White Rock Cockerels [9].
