Disease relevance of Capillary Resistance

High impact information on Capillary Resistance

  • The effect of calcium dobesilate on capillary resistance and background retinopathy was compared with placebo in a double-blind cross-over trial on 18 diabetics [1].
  • A wide spread of Pg values in individual glomeruli and the absence of tubular flow despite the appearance of i.v. injected lissamine green in a quadrant of surface glomeruli suggested the possibility of a greatly increased, glomerular capillary resistance [2].
  • BACKGROUND: Bioflavonoids and ascorbic acid have been shown to increase capillary resistance and to mediate potent antioxidative radical scavenging activities [3].
  • Pretreatment of the skin with 0.45% BN 52021 ointment significantly suppressed the decrease in capillary resistance, rise in skin temperature and increase in skin-fold thickness produced by dithranol [4].
  • The vascular model of AMD may provide better understanding of the blood flow and post capillary resistance and help in early and newer intervention in the disease [5].

Anatomical context of Capillary Resistance

Associations of Capillary Resistance with chemical compounds

  • The effect of three different oral doses of O-(beta-hydroxyethyl)-rutosides (HR, Venoruton) on the skin capillary resistance (CR) of Sprague-Dawley rats aged 8-10 weeks, 6 months or 1 year (and selected because of their low CR) was investigated [8].
  • Applying certain phlogistics (10% ol. sinapis, tinct. capsici, Dionin) and 1.5% histamine solution to the conjunctival sac of rabbits led to a mathematically significant decrease in conjunctival capillary resistance in every experimental animal [9].
  • While the catecholamines and heparin increased capillary resistance in both allergic and non-allergic groups, metacholine, serotonin, the somatotropic hormone and nitroglycerin either did not change or decreased capillary resistance in the normal group and invariably increased it in the members of the allergic group [10].
