Disease relevance of Ureteral Neoplasms

• Two series of transitional cell carcinomas (TCC), one including 49 renal pelvic and/or ureteral cancers and the other 29 bladder cancers with concomitant ureteral involvement, were reviewed to establish the criteria for nephron-sparing surgery and for selecting the most appropriate surgical intervention for TCCs at the ureterovesical junction [1].

• Data for 13 women with ureteral cancer, 5 of whom had taken phenacetin, are presented but not analyzed [2].
• However, a report on renal pelvis and ureteral cancer induced by cyclophosphamide or irradiation is a rarity in itself [3].
