18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron tomography in diagnosis of paediatric inflammatory bowel disease.

Existing techniques for the diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease in children are generally less than ideal. Positron tomography with fluorine-18-labelled fluorodeoxyglucose provides adequate information in patients with suspected inflammatory bowel disease.[1]
