Fallopian tube cancer in a BRCA1 mutation carrier: rapid development and failure of screening.

We report a case of fallopian tube cancer that developed in a woman with a germ-line BRCA1 mutation. The notable feature of this case was the extremely rapid growth of the cancer, which precluded early diagnosis. Preventive gynecologic surgery in BRCA1/2 mutation carriers should probably always include bilateral salpingectomy.[1]
