The effect of some amine oxides and disulphide compounds on the activity of acetylcholinesterase.

Three amine oxides, two aliphatic and one aromatic, and 2,2'-dithiodipyridine were found to be weak reversible inhibitors of acetylcholinesterase. 5,5'-Dithiobis-(2-nitro-benzoic acid) had no effect on the enzyme under the conditions of the Ellman spectrophotometric assay.[1]
