Late superior vena cava perforation and aortic laceration after stenting to treat superior vena cava syndrome secondary to fibrosing mediastinitis.

The etiology of the late perforation is unclear, and could be secondary to either flaring of the trailing edge of the stent or chest trauma.[1]
