The potential of antispermatogenic drugs against trypanosomatids.

In recent years, two antispermatogenic drugs - gossypol and lonidamine (Fig. I) - have been reported to inhibit the growth of Trypanosoma cruzi in culture. In this article, Julio Turrens discusses the biochemical similarities between trypanosomatids and spermatozoa. and the potential o f these antispermatogenic drugs against the parasites.[1]
