Anabolic steroid use has escalated in recent years along with law enforcement. A total of 169 athletes participated in a trial of medical prescription designed to minimize harm as drug elimination is impossible. This showed one-third of athletes achieved their goal in one course, and few were frequent users over the 3-to-5-year period of the trial. Side effects were minimal and reversible.[1]
