Incidence and forms of EPH gestosis in twin pregnancy.

An increased incidence of EPH gestosis in twin pregnancies is frequently reported. During the past 12 years, 188 women gave birth to twins in our hospital. For these mothers, the incidence of EPH gestosis on admission was 42.5%, in contrast to 31.4% for a control group matched for age, parity and nationality. EPH gestosis occurring in twin pregnancies was more severe than that in single pregnancies.[1]
