Disease relevance of RSPO1

  • Here we show that human R-spondin1 (RSPO1) is the gene disrupted in a recessive syndrome characterized by XX sex reversal, palmoplantar hyperkeratosis and predisposition to squamous cell carcinoma of the skin [1].
  • In a general functional screen for human secreted proteins using transgenic mouse models, we identified human R-spondin1 (hRspo1) protein as a potent and specific mitogen for the gastrointestinal epithelium and demonstrated a potential therapeutic application for the protein in mouse models of cancer therapy-induced mucositis [2].

High impact information on RSPO1

  • The solid dispersions were produced by melting and solvent methods, containing 7%, 15%, or 25% of the drug and different ratios of Eudragit RLPO and RSPO in ratios of 0:10, 3:7, 5:5, 7:3, and 10:0 [3].
  • Extended-release theophylline (TP) matrix tablets were prepared by direct compression of drug and different pH-dependent (Eudragit L100, S100 and L100-55) and pH-independent (Eudragit RLPO and RSPO) polymer combinations [4].
  • Several new 17beta-estradiol unilaminate adhesive devices capable of releasing 17beta-estradiol in a controlled fashion over a 24-h, 36-h, 96-h, 104-h, 168-h, and 216-h period have been developed using acrylic resins (Eudragits E100, RSPO, and RLPO) as adhesive and rate-controlling polymers [5].
