Disease relevance of GINS1

• The four hGINS subunits were coexpressed in Escherichia coli in a highly soluble form and purified as a complex. hGINS was shown to interact directly with the heterodimeric human DNA primase, by using either surface plasmon resonance measurements or by immunoprecipitation experiments carried out with anti-hGINS antibodies [1].

• PSF1 is essential for early embryogenesis in mice [2].
• We originally cloned the mouse ortholog of PSF1 from a hematopoietic stem cell cDNA library and found that PSF1 is expressed in blastocysts, adult bone marrow, and testis, in which the stem cell system is active [2].
