Disease relevance of SCO3878

The dnaA-dnaN intergenic region is approximately 1 kb and contains a cluster of at least 12 DnaA boxes with a consensus sequence of TTGTCCACA matching the consensus DnaA box in the phylogenetically related Micrococcus luteus [1].

Hybridization and DNA sequence analyses revealed the presence of five open reading frames (ORFs) oriented in the same direction as the proximal dnaA and dnaN genes [2].
