High impact information on hrpS

  • Formation of the Hrp pilus is dependent on at least two hrp genes, hrpS and hrpH (recently renamed hrcC), which are involved in gene regulation and protein secretion, respectively [1].
  • Most were also dependent on the hrpL gene, but at least one was dependent on the hrpS gene, but not on the hrpL gene [2].
  • Strong engagement of the oxidative burst was dependent on the presence of functional Pst hrpS and hrpA gene products [3].
