Rabies in the dog.
The presenting signs are described of 19 dogs that were observed from the time of presentation until death. Rabies was confirmed by laboratory tests in each case. Vicious behaviour was seen in only six dogs. Paralytic signs and/or abnormal behaviour--the so-called "dumb" rabies--were more frequent. Six of the dogs had received Flury strain LEP vaccination. Intense conjunctival congestion was an important diagnostic feature.[1]References
