Disease relevance of ODZ1

  • We found that a cohort of patients with lung cancer first treated in 1977 had higher six-month survival rates for the total group and for subgroups in each of the three main TNM stages (tumor, nodes, and metastases) than a cohort treated between 1953 and 1964 at the same institutions [1].
  • Six hundred sixty patients with TNM stage II or III rectal cancer received intermittent bolus injections or protracted venous infusions of fluorouracil during postoperative radiation to the pelvis [2].
  • The TNM staging system for malignant melanoma could be modified to incorporate these data [3].
  • By all three assays, ceruloplasmin was significantly increased above the normal before treatment, and the degree of elevation was related to TNM stage [i.e., the International Union Against Cancer classification system based on extent of primary tumor (T), condition of lymph nodes (N), and absence of presence of metastases (M)] [4].
  • BACKGROUND: Approximately one third of the patients with superficially infiltrative transitional cell (T1-TNM pathological staging system) bladder carcinoma who are treated with transurethral resection alone have disease progression [5].

Psychiatry related information on ODZ1

  • All 824 members of the Society of Head and Neck Surgeons (SHNS) and 522 members of the American Society for Head and Neck Surgery, who were not SHNS members, were surveyed using TNM stage-specific clinical vignettes to measure surgical decision making in the posttreatment follow-up of patients with upper aerodigestive tract cancer [6].
  • Cox proportional hazards models revealed that alcohol abuse, advanced TNM stage, high tumor grade, nodal disease, extracapsular spread, advanced comorbidity, and regional or distant metastatic disease were associated with poorer survival for all patients [7].
  • Recent molecular studies indicate that underlying genetic abnormalities may reflect such individual differences independently of TNM status [8].
  • The TNM stage, prognosis, diagnostic delay, level of education and smoking and alcohol consumption histories of the patients were also recorded [9].
  • In our opinion the benefits of hand-assisted laparoscopic surgery, such as safe blunt digital dissection, restoration of tactile feedback and restored proprioception, account for greater accuracy in TNM staging and in the assessment of resectability of pancreatic cancer [10].

High impact information on ODZ1

  • Furthermore, chromosome 18q allelic loss remained a strong predictive factor (hazard ratio for death, 2.46; 95 percent confidence interval, 1.06 to 5.71; P = 0.036) after adjustment for all other evaluated factors, including tumor differentiation, vein invasion, and TNM stage [11].
  • RESULTS: In total, single CK18-positive tumor cells were detected in 180 (33.8%) of 532 bone marrow aspirates, with few differences among patients with breast or gastrointestinal cancer in TNM stage M0 (i.e., no distant metastasis) [12].
  • In patients with resected lymph node-positive colon carcinomas (TNM stage 3), adjuvant 5-fluorouracil and levamisole produced an unequivocal survival advantage that established this combination as the standard of clinical practice [13].
  • The stool DAF test was positive in a substantial portion of patients with colorectal cancer whose tumors were small ( < 2 cm), at an early TNM stage, or unassociated with fecal occult blood positivity [14].
  • Time to abandon TNM staging of breast cancer [15]?

Chemical compound and disease context of ODZ1

  • In addition, the risk of recurrence increased (RR = 1.7, 95%CI 1.0-3.0), after adjustment for the known prognostic factors (TNM), for patients with plasma lipid-adjusted vitamin E levels of over 22 micromol/l. The risk of breast cancer death was twice as great for patients with plasma lipid-adjusted vitamin E levels above this value [16].
  • METHODS: A total of 166 patients were randomized to receive intravenous 5-FU (450 mg/m2/day) or oral doxifluridine (900 mg/m2/day) in combination with leucovorin (20 mg/m2/day) for depth of invasion, nodal status, metastasis (TNM) stage II and III patients between October 1997 and February 1999 [17].
  • Nephron sparing surgery for localized renal cell carcinoma: impact of tumor size on patient survival, tumor recurrence and TNM staging [18].
  • METHODS AND MATERIALS: Patients with TNM Stage II or III rectal cancer and residual or recurrent colon cancer received eniluracil (starting at 6.0 mg/m(2) every 12 h) and 5-FU (starting at 0.6 mg/m(2) every 12 h) [19].
  • Between 1986 and 1991, 35 patients with esophageal cancer (TNM stages II-IV) underwent transthoracic esophagectomy with lymph adenectomy and were subsequently treated with 5,000 cGy of radiation (days 1-40) and concurrently with two courses of chemotherapy (cisplatin, vindesine and pepleomycin, days 21-26 and 49-54) [20].

Biological context of ODZ1

  • The results were correlated with the histology of resected specimens according to the new (1987) TNM classification [21].
  • Urology and the TNM classification [22].
  • Decreased p27(Kip1) expression was significantly associated with less marked tumor cell differentiation (P =.017), lymphatic invasion (P =.046), lymph node metastasis (P =.007), and advanced TNM stage (stage IV vs. stage I, P =.026; stage IV vs. stage II, P =.005) [23].
  • PATIENTS AND METHODS: Tissue biopsies from 15 adult patients with colon adenocarcinoma of different TNM and G stagings were compared with regard to lipid peroxidation aldehydes and net TGF-beta1 levels [24].
  • We examined the prognostic value of the bcl-2 protein in TNM stage II colon carcinomas and its relationship to DNA ploidy, cell proliferation indices, p53 expression, and clinicopathological features [25].

Anatomical context of ODZ1

  • Endosonographic TNM staging of extrahepatic bile duct cancer: comparison with pathological staging [26].
  • Endosonography revealed a superficial hypoechoic tumor limited to the mucosa, which was compatible with a T1 carcinoma according to the new (1987) Union Internationale Contre le Cancer TNM classification of the polypoid tumor [27].
  • All the tissue samples with carcinoma in each the TNM stages presented C5b-9 deposits on the membranes of tumor cells, thin granules on cell remnants, and diffuse deposits in the necrotic areas [28].
  • The level of ECM1 mRNA expression was higher in TNM stage I differentiated thyroid cancers than in stage II and III tumors (P < or = 0.031) [29].
  • Three-field lymphadenectomy for carcinoma of the esophagus and gastroesophageal junction in 174 R0 resections: impact on staging, disease-free survival, and outcome: a plea for adaptation of TNM classification in upper-half esophageal carcinoma [30].

Associations of ODZ1 with chemical compounds

Analytical, diagnostic and therapeutic context of ODZ1

  • MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES--The PSA differences between black and white PC patients with adjustments for age, biopsy tumor grade (Gleason score), and clinical stage (TNM stage); PSA differences between black and white PC patients undergoing RP with adjustment for age, RP grade, clinical stage, and tumor volume [36].
  • The combination of A9 pattern and ABH blood group antigen expression in tumor tissue was the variable most strongly associated with duration of disease-free survival, even after adjustment for the traditional prognostic factors of tumor site, stage, and TNM classification [37].
  • Endosonography and computed tomography of esophageal carcinoma. Preoperative classification compared to the new (1987) TNM system [21].
  • The incidence of multiple hepatocellular carcinoma, more advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (TNM stage III or IV) or both was significantly higher in the transcatheter arterial chemoembolization group than in the hepatectomy group for both Child A and Child B patients [38].
  • A retrospective study of 101 patients with adenocarcinoma of the gastric cardia treated with proximal subtotal, extended proximal subtotal, total, and extended total gastrectomy demonstrated the following: 1) There were no five year survivors among patients with TNM stage III and IV disease [39].
