Conjugates occurring in the soil yielded, after acid hydrolysis, a monohydroxylated dichlorobiphenyl among other compounds [1].
These results indicate that Clophen A 50 causes liver damage and alters the lipid metabolism of rats, whereas the low chlorinated dichlorobiphenyl does not exert such effects [2].
