All three ligands show the 3-hydroxy-2(1H)-pyridinone (HPO) groups attached as sidearms to a polyaza fragment, which is a macrocyclic framework in the case of L1 and L2 while it is an open chain in the case of L3 [1].
The effects of intravenous infusion of mimosine or 2,3-dihydroxypyridine (2,3-DHP) and the effects of oral dose level of mimosine on fiber shedding in Angora goats were determined [2].

New macromolecular chelators have been synthesized, by loading 2,3-dihydroxypyridine (DHP) on cellulose via linkers -NH-CH(2)-CH(2)-NH-SO(2)-C(6)H(4)-N=N- and -SO(2)-C(6)H(4)-N=N-, and characterized by elemental analysis, TGA, IR, and CPMAS (13)C NMR spectra [4].
