The metabolism of the anthelmintics clioxanide and resorantel and related compounds in vitro by Moniezia expansa, Ascaris suum and mouse- and sheep-liver enzymes [1].
A 2- tertiary-butyl benzthiazole compound (CGA 72630) at 25 mg/kg and resorantel at 65 mg/kg had very high efficacy against both adult and immature fluke in the rumen and small intestine respectively [2].
Treatment with resorantel at 65 mg/kg or niclosamide at 50 mg/kg however, caused expulsion of the strobilae within 16--24 hours after treatment and at autopsy, lambs were free of scoleces of T. giardi [3].
