Disease relevance of pSKU146_12

In phylogenetic analysis, TraE homologs of S. kunkelii, Mycoplasma pulmonis and Mycoplasma fermentans cluster together and are more similar to TraE proteins of Gram-positive bacteria than to those of Gram-negative bacteria, thereby resembling the 16S rRNA phylogeny [1].
Five ORFs encode proteins similar to TraE and Mob in walled bacteria, and to ORFs found in the integrative, conjugative element (ICEF) of Mycoplasma fermentans, respectively [2].
