Biotransformation of (-)-guaiol by Eurotium rubrum as a biocatalyst.

The biotransformation of (-)-guaiol (1) has been investigated by using plant parasite fungus, Eurotium rubrum. Compound 1 was oxidized at the C-2 position, and transformed to pancherione.[1]
