A new dihydroisocoumarin from the rhizomes of Notopterygium forbesii.

A new dihydroisocoumarin, 6-methoxyhydrangenol (1) as well as eleven known compounds were isolated from a traditional Chinese medicine, the rhizomes of Notopterygium forbesii Boiss. The structure of 1 was elucidated by spectroscopic methods.[1]
