Combined use of neostigmine and ocular motility measurements in the diagnosis of myasthenia gravis.

Forty-four patients with diplopia caused by myasthenia gravis, ocular myopathies, and ocular motor nerve palsies underwent complete orthoptic evaluations before and after intramuscular injection of neostigmine (Prostigmin) methylsulfate. A test score combining the results of binocular and uniocular measurements was developed that allowed correct correct classification of 70% (31) of patients studied.[1]
