Transitional cell carcinomas were observed in 1 of 39 (control), 1 of 29 (BZ), 18 of 30 (N'-hydroxy-N-acetylbenzidine), 28 of 28 (N'-hydroxy-N-acetylbenzidine N'-glucuronide), and 24 of 29 (N-hydroxy-2-aminofluorene N-glucuronide) rats [1].

Seven cell lines were established from neoplastic urothelial cells derived from heterotopically transplanted rat bladders treated with topical application of one of two carcinogens, N-methyl-N-nitrosourea (MNU) or N-hydroxy-N-glucuronosyl-2-aminofluorene [2].
Two of nine TCCs induced by the N-glucuronide of N-hydroxy-2-aminofluorene were found to have p53 mutations [3].
