  • The preparation of nanostructures using porous anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) as templates involves the introduction of dissolved materials into the pores of the membranes; one way to determine which materials are preferred to fill the pores involves the measurement of the contact angles (theta) of different solvents or test liquids on the AAOs [1].
  • With this technique, we have been able to obtain large pieces of free-standing AAO membranes with regular pore sizes of sub-10 nm [2].
