Spina bifida occulta is one of the major effects of the recessive mutant "snubnose" (symbol sno) [1].

High impact information on sno

cDNA clones of ski and the ski-related gene, sno, were obtained by screening human cDNA libraries [2].
DNA sequencing analysis revealed two types of cDNA clones from the sno (ski-related novel gene) gene, possibly due to alternative splicing [2].
Three mouse mutations, snubnose, curly tail, and cribriform degeneration, map in the vicinity of the beta gene [3].
