Detailed Southern analyses revealed that the mouse genome contains only one active Txn gene and one processed pseudogene (Txn-ps1), in contrast to some species which have families of active TXN-encoding genes [1].
Txn maps to Chr 4, whereas Txn-ps1 maps to the proximal region of Chr 1 [2].
