High impact information on psbI

  • In Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, ycf10, located between the psbI and atpH genes, encodes a putative hydrophobic protein of 500 residues, which is considerably larger than its higher plant homologue because of a long insertion that separates the conserved N and C termini [1].
  • Here, we demonstrate that the crp3 mutation also alters 3'-end formation of psbI mRNA and cemA-containing mRNAs [2].
  • A novel 3'-end is formed in monocistronic psbI transcripts, and this is the only terminus observed when the psbI 3'-untranslated region is fused to an aadA reporter gene [2].
  • The products of the psbF, psbI, and psbN genes remained undetected, presumably because of blocked N termini [3].
