High impact information on HLA-DPB2

  • Finally, we have demonstrated, by the isolation of overlapping cosmid clones, that the gene is 45 kb centromeric to the HLA-DPB2 locus and oriented with the 3' end toward the MHC [1].
  • In each of the four species, the DP region consists of four loci arranged in the same order (DPB2 . . . DPA2 . . . DPB1 . . . DPA1) and in the same transcriptional orientation (tail-to-tail) [2].
  • However, no RNA transcripts for either DP alpha 2 or DP beta 2 could be detected [3].

Analytical, diagnostic and therapeutic context of HLA-DPB2

  • These were defined by in-situ hybridization as 6p21.31 (by using loci in the HLA complex defined by the probes p45.1DP beta 003/HLA-DPB2 and pRS5.10/HLA class I chain) and 16p13.11 (by using probes pACHF1.3.2/D16S8 and VK45/D16S131) [4].
