Disease relevance of Glossinidae

The susceptibility of tsetse flies (Diptera: Glossinidae), Glossina palpalis gambiensis (Vanderplank), and G. m. morsitans (Westwood) to topically applied spinosad, a mixture of insecticidal molecules from the actinomycete Saccharopolyspora spinosa, is almost as high as to deltamethrin [1].
